Janhit Mein Jaari: Nushrratt Bharuccha opens up on why she chose to do the film; calls her role ‘challenging’

Nushrratt Bharuccha is gearing up for the big screen release of Janhit Mein Jaari, which will mark her latest project as a solo lead. As the trailers suggest, the film seeks to break taboos and impart an important social message to audiences. The actress recently opened up about her choice of films and why she chose Janhit Mein Jaari.

In conversation with IANS, Nushrratt talked about how ‘content-driven’ films was one of the biggest reasons for her success in the industry. She recalled the success of her film Pyaar Ka Punchnama, and talked about how ‘good content’ and the audiences were the biggest factors in her success today.

Talking about Janhit Mein Jaari, the actress said that she was ‘blown away’ by the film. Raaj Shaandaliyaa has written the film’s script,and Nushrratt reveals that one of the biggest reasons she chose to do the film was because she understood the filmmaker’s vision. The duo had earlier collaborated on the 2019 film Dream Girl, which Raaj had directed.

The actress talked about how one of the aspects she found most ‘challenging’ about her character was the way she spoke. “Since this girl talks very fast and she is from a small town whereas I am a Mumbai girl, it was challenging,” she said. Nonetheless, Nushrratt adds that it was still fun.

Nushrrat also said that every character she chose to do was a ‘real’ one, with an interesting story. She talked about how she chose to listen to scripts just like audiences. The actress also pointed to the ‘change’ that has come from viewers’ side as well, in that audiences willingly go to theatres to watch films headlined by women.

In addition to Nushrratt, the upcoming film also features Anud Singh Dhaka, Tinnu Anand, Vijay Raaz, and Paritosh Tripathi in pivotal roles. Jai Basantu Singh has directed the film and written its script along with Raaj, Rajan Agarwal and Sonali Singh.

Janhit Mein Jaari will be released in theatres on June 10, 2022.
