Jana Nayagan, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor Vijay in the lead role, is one of the most anticipated Tamil films. With the makers shifting the release date of the film from October 2025 to January 2026, the latest is that the OTT rights have been sold for a fancy price. Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film, which is touted to be Vijay’s farewell project to cinema, before his full-time political journey begins.

Vijay, who is fondly known as Thalapathy by his fans, announced his 69th film with director H Vinoth. The film is titled Jana Nayagan, and is touted to be Vijay’s final film before he begins his full-fledged political journey.
As per the latest reports, Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of Jana Nayagan for a fancy price. Even as the OTT market is said to be crashing and streaming platforms being picky about the films they buy, Jana Nayagan has been brought for a good price of Rs 121 crore, given the stardom Vijay comes with. The Hindi version of the film will be streamed eight weeks after the release in northern belt theatres and multiplexes.

Directed by filmmaker H Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan is set to release for Pongal next year, just a few months before the 2026 polls. The film also stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead, marking her second collaboration with Vijay after the action drama Beast.
Jana Nayagan also stars Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Priyamani and others. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring music for the film. Jana Nayagan is generating significant anticipation among fans, eager to witness Vijay's onscreen political journey. Sathyan Sooryan ISC is cranking the camera. Anl Arasu is the action coordinator. The film also marks Vinoth’s first collaboration with Vijay.
