Jailer: The Rajinikanth-starrer goes on floors today; makers reveal the Superstar's look from the film

Earlier this month, none other than Rajinikanth himself had revealed that the shooting of his latest project Jailer will go on floors on either August 15 or 22. The team has now announced that they are commencing the production today. The Superstar will be joining the crew in Chennai.

The makers have also revealed the star's look from the film which will have Nelson Dilipkumar at its helm. Rajini sports a salt and pepper hair and beard apart from a nerd glasses. He is seen clad in a casual plane shirt tucked in and brown pants with his hands tied behind back.

Fans of the star are elated to see him in a movie still after a long hiatus. The first look of his previous outing Annaatthe was released almost a year ago. Jailer is expected to hit the screens as a summer release in 2023. The makers are yet to make an announcement on the film's cast and crew.

Despite various speculations doing the rounds, only Sandalwood star Shiva Rajkumar's presence has been officially confirmed till date. Sun Pictures is bankrolling the movie; this is the fourth collaboration of the production house with the Superstar after Enthiran, Petta and Annaatthe.

Anirudh has been roped in to compose music for the project; his inclusion was confirmed by Sun Pictures when they made an announcement on the project earlier this year. Tentatively titled Thalaivar 169 till sometime ago, the movie's official title was revealed a couple of months ago.

It looks like fans have to wait for some more time to know about the film's cast and crew. The last outings of both Rajinikanth and Nelson received mixed response, and hence, Jailer needs to impress all sections of audience by hook or crook.
