Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar has become an overnight sensation among the fans of Tamil cinema after his explosive cameo in Jailer, which stars Superstar Rajinikanth. While he calls Rajinikanth 'chittappa' , which is Tamil for uncle, he's a die-hard fan of Kamal Haasan.
Talking about his fandom for Kamal Haasan , he recalled his first meeting with his hero and the funny outcome of it. "Kamal Haasan sir had come home to meet my father (late movie icon Dr Rajkumar). And I was star-struck by him. I just stood there and kept admiring him. And he caught me staring at him. And he asked my father, who I was. My father then called me and introduced me to Kamal sir. I shook hands with him and asked if I can hug him once. You won't believe it after that hug I did not bathe for three days. I am such a big fan of him. The vibe of Kamal Haasan is something else," Shivarajkumar recalled.
At a time when fans of Rajinikanth and Kamal engage in a never-ending war of words on social media, Shivarajkumar shows us that you don't need to hate one to profess your loyalty to the other. You can love and celebrate the two pillars of Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, at the same time.
Shivarajkumar's popularity with Tamil moviegoers skyrocketed following the release of Jailer. Even though he appears on the screen only a couple of scenes, his screen presence has left an indelible mark on their hearts. Shivarajkumar appeared in a cameo role named Narasimha, who provides the logistical and manpower support to Rajinikanth's Muthuvel Pandian in Jailer.
Written and directed by Nelson, Jailer is setting the worldwide box office on fire. The movie is set to shatter several collection records of the previous blockbusters.
Shivarajkumar also played an extended cameo in director Arun Matheswaran's upcoming movie Captain Miller . Set against the backdrop of British India, the movie stars Dhanush in the lead.
