Superstar Rajinikanth, whose latest outing Jailer is breaking one record after the other, has now landed in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh as part of his spiritual sojourn. And the latest we hear is that the actor is all set to watch the film with UP CM Yogi Adityanath. Speaking to the media after arriving at the Lucknow airport, the Jailer actor said, "Yes, I am going to watch the film with him." When asked about the massive box office collections, Rajinikanth said, "It's a gift from god."
Rajinikanth headed to the Himalayas a day ahead of the release of Jailer, and since then has been on a spiritual tour. Pictures of the actor surfaced from Rishikesh, Badrinath, Ranchi and many other locations on social media and have been breaking the internet. A video of Rajinikanth in which he spoke about how expectations skyrocketed for Jailer from the Dayananda Swami Ashram recently did the rounds on social media. It also marked his first speech after the release of the film.
In the meantime, the film has been a massive success at the box office. According to the film's production house, Sun Pictures, Jailer has earned Rs 375.40 crore in the first week of its release. However, the production company tweeted the update with an asterisk stating that this was only a tentative figure. The film is now running into its second week and is showing no signs of slowing down.
The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has emerged as top-grosser in the southern states and has outdone Chinrajeevi's latest movie Bhola Shankar in his own state. The latter's movie has opened to negative reviews as well.
Jailer is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and features Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Mohanlal, Ramya Krishnan, Sunil, Tamannaah, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, Redin Kingsley, Vinayakan and Jaffer Sadiq.
