Superstar Rajinikanth will return in all his glory on August 10 with Nelson's Jailer. Billed as a black-comedy action entertainer, the film boasts an exciting ensemble cast that also includes seasoned actors Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Telugu comedian Sunil, Malayalam talented actor Vinayakan and Kannada's own Shiva Rajkumar. In the lead-up to Jailer's release, one gathers that there's a lot of excitement in the air for the film, especially among the fans of Rajinikanth.
The veteran actor's stardom has often transcended regional and linguistic boundaries and it is quite true that Karnataka has proven to be a conducive box-office market for his films. But this time around, the involvement of Shiva Rajkumar has lent the film extra impetus, so to speak, because according to the latest reports, Jailer will have close to 300 screens to its name on Day #1 of its release.

The same reports inform us that the film will get more than 2500 shows across Karnataka (including multiple languages), making it the biggest release for a Rajinikanth film in the state in terms of number of theatrical shows. In Bengaluru alone, the film has commanded 1000+ shows including early morning screenings that are to begin as early as 6 am.
Jailer is distributed by the very sought-after Jayanna Combines who boast a wide network of theatres as part of their repertoire. The distributors are evidently kicked about the prospects that the Rajinikanth film carries and have also acknowledged the presence of Shivanna in the mix as one of its main highlights.
So, the stage certainly seems perfectly set for Nelson and Co. to cash in on the hype and yield great results at the box office. Of course, they will have to contend with the Megastar Chiranjeevi starrer Bhola Shankar, which arrives in cinemas on August 11, but one does hope to see both releases perform well. Bhola Shankar, directed by Meher Ramesh, also stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Keerthy Suresh, Sushanth and others.
