As Jailer smashes its way to emerge as a box office success, the latest we hear is that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has congratulated the Superstar. It seems Kamal Haasan spoke to Rajinikanth, who is currently on a spiritual sojourn in the Himalayas and congratulated him on the film and its success. Kamal Haasan also got in touch with the film's director Nelson Dilipkumar, and congratulated him as well.

It is to be noted that Rajinikanth , too, had congratulated his dear friend Kamal Haasan on the success of Vikram. Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth have always shared a warm relationship with each other and are great friends off screen.

The duo had also worked in a number of super hit films together, which includes Apoorva Raagangal, Moondru Mudichu, Thappu Thalangal, Pathinaru Vayathinile, and Ninaithale Inikkum to name a few. While Kamal Haasan played the lead in most of these films, Rajinikanth played the antagonist. Later, they decided to part ways onscreen to carve a niche for themselves in the industry.

While Rajinikanth went on to take the commercial potboiler route, cashing in on his mass image and style, Kamal Haasan went into an experimental mode, testing his versatility and acting prowess with characters that were poles apart from each other. Both emerged successful in their own ventures. They had last shared stage together during the audio launch of Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan.

As for Jailer, the film has been setting the cash registers ringing, breaking one box office record after the other. The film marks the maiden collaboration between Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar.

In the meantime, Kamal Haasan is busy with the post-production of his upcoming film, Indian 2. The film, directed by Shankar, is a sequel to the 1996 film, Indian. Kamal Haasan will be reprising his iconic character Senapathy, a freedom fighter and a vigilante. Indian 2 is likely to hit screens later this year.
