Superstar Rajinikanth's latest movie Jailer has become a box office behemoth at worldwide box office . The movie has exceeded all expectations with its record-breaking collection spree. The movie's 10-day collection has surpassed the lifetime collections of many previous blockbusters.
According to reports, on average, the movie on an average earned Rs 50 crore daily at the global box office since its release. The movie was released on August 10 to packed houses across the world, collecting more than Rs 70 crore on its opening day. It was the biggest opener in Rajinikanth's career spanning nearly five-decade. The movie's release day momentum gained a lot of force due to the positive reviews both from the critics and audiences alike.

And Jailer went on to create new milestones for Tamil cinema at the global box office. While the movie dominates 90 per cent of the screens in Tamil Nadu, it also remains the top choice for movie-goers in other South Indian states. '
There are varying reports on the movie's state-wise collection. According to some reports, Jailer has raked in over Rs 35 crore, beating the lifetime collection of Rajinikanth's 2.0 in Karnataka. It has also become the rare movie which has retained over 600 screens across the state even after 10 days of its release.
In the Telugu states, Jailer continues to perform well in cinemas overshadowing newly released Telugu movies, including Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi's Bhola Shankar. The movie's 9-day gross in the Telugu states is pegged at over Rs 60 crore.
In Kerala, Jailer is second only to the collection records set by Malayalam cinema's biggest hit in 2018. With over Rs 43 crore in ticket sales, Jailer has become the biggest Tamil earner at the Kerala box office, overtaking Kamal Haasan's Rs 40 crore lifetime collection.
In Tamil Nadu, the movie's 9-day collection is said to be over Rs 130 crore. The trade expects the movie to create new records by overtaking Ponniyin Selvan 1's Rs 200 crore earnings at the Tamil Nadu box office.
The unconfirmed estimations have pegged the 10-day global collection of Jailer at Rs 500 crore. An official confirmation on the same is awaited.
