It looks like Rajinikanth's latest outing Jailer is out there all guns blazing. The film has been breaking one box office record after another, and the latest we hear is that the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has collected $4M at the USA box office. The film also features in the prestigious top 10 films of the week at US box office. And this collection is merely after four days since the film's release on August 10.

In the meantime, the film has surpassed MYR 3 million in Malaysia. The film is now expected to surpass the collection of Rajinikanth's Kabali and is now gearing up to become the highest grosser among Tamil movies in the country in 2023 and is now trending on number one in the country. This sure has come as great news for fans of the Superstar.

Expectations were riding high on Jailer as Rajinikanth's last film, Annatthe failed to set the cash registers ringing. Rajinikanth , who is on a spiritual sojourn in the Himalayas had confessed to the same. In a video of the Superstar speaking at the Dayananda Swami Ashram in Rishikesh, the actor is seen saying, "Jailer is releasing with a  lot of expectations. When I reached the Dayananda Swami Ashram, I took the blessings of Swamiji and Jailer was the last thing on my mind. But Swamiji said, "Don't worry, Jailer will become a hit. If Swamiji says that, Jailer is a hit."

Rajinikanth plays Muthuvel Pandian , a former jailer who is on a mission to nab a dreaded gang leader who has escaped from the prison. The film brings together the big guns of various industries, including Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Sunil, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi and Vinayakan to name a few.

The film is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures and is now marked as the big comeback of the Superstar after the debacle, Annaatthe.
