The hype for Rajinikanth's Jailer has witnessed a spike ever since the second single, Hukum, was released. The expectations were exceeded after the audio launch was held in Chennai a few days ago. The action drama helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar is hitting the screens on August 10.
All eyes are now on the trailer which will be out today evening. Fans of the Superstar are curious to know what Nelson and the team have come up with and are eagerly awaiting the comeback of their matinee idol. The recent posters unveiled by the makers have also aided in enhancing the hype surrounding the project.
The advance booking for the action drama began a few days ago in the US, one of the strong forts of Rajinikanth. The numbers to date are around $250K and cinephiles are curious to know if it could reach around $1M before the film's release.
The movie is likely to register a good opening in Tamil Nadu as well, going by the hype. However, the lack of early morning shows in the state is expected to dent the day one number. Given the current craze for the movie, it has immense possibility to trash existing day one records in the state.
The shows of Jailer will commence only at 9 am across Tamil Nadu, thanks to a strict GO that was passed a few months ago after a youngster passed away while indulging in celebrations held for Thunivu at 1 am in January.
A leading exhibitor in Tamil Nadu has confirmed that the booking for Jailer will begin on August 5. The last movie of the Superstar which had an immense craze was Petta. However, it was released along with Viswasam. This is the first time after Kabali, a Rajini-starrer with a massive craze, is enjoying a solo release.
