Jailer 2: Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar wrap up promo shoot; major updates out

Rajinikanth, the legendary superstar is all set to reunite with director Nelson Dilipkumar, for the long-awaited Jailer sequel, very soon. The upcoming action thriller, which is reportedly titled Jailer 2: Hukum, is one of the most anticipated projects of Tamil cinema in 2025. As per the latest updates, Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar have finally wrapped up the Jailer 2 promo shoot after a day of filming. In that case, a big announcement can be expected in a few days.

Jailer 2 promo shoot wrapped up

As per the latest updates, director Nelson Dilipkumar and his team have wrapped up the filming of Jailer 2: Hukum’s announcement promo, today (December 6, 2024). The reports suggest that the filmmaker shot a special announcement promo video and official posters of Jailer 2, featuring leading man Rajinikanth, in the shot which was wrapped up in a day. The technical team has already kickstarted the post-production of the promo video, which is expected to be released on December 12, 2024, on the special occasion of the superstar’s birthday.

Rajinikanth is all set to reprise the much-celebrated titular character from Jailer - ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian IPS, a retired police officer - in the upcoming Nelson Dilipkumar directorial. Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar, the Malayalam and Kannada superstars who made cameo appearances in the first installment as Mathew and Narasimha respectively, are also expected to reprise their character in Jailer 2. The original cast, including Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa Menon, and others are also expected to return to the second installment.

For the uninitiated, Ramya Krishnan played the role of Muthuvel Pandian’s wife Vijaya in the film, while Vasanth Ravi and Mirnaa Menon appeared as their son ACP Arjun Pandian IPS and his wife Swetha, respectively. Anirudh Ravichander composed the songs and the original score for the blockbuster film. Vijay Karthik Kannan handled the cinematography.
