Jagdishwar Mishra is gearing up for a comeback to bring bad guys to justice yet again. It was reported that Akshay Kumar will reprise his role as the titular protagonist in Jolly LLB 3, the third instalment in the Jolly LLB franchise.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the upcoming film will be bankrolled under the banners of Star Studios. Subhash Kapoor will return to direct the upcoming sequel as well. The filmmaker had helmed Jolly LLB(2013) and Jolly LLB 2(2017), the first two instalments in the franchise. Saurabh Shukla, who had been a part of the first two films, is expected to reprise his role in the third film as well.

The report stated that the makers had already locked the script for the upcoming sequel and would soon start to look into casting for the other parts in the film. After that, the makers would move onto location recce.

The makers planned to bring the film on floors by early 2023, and were eyeing for a release date in late 2023. A source told the portal that Jolly LLB 3 would ‘be bigger and better’ than its predecessors, with ‘big surprises’ in store for audiences.

The Jolly LLB franchise started with the 2013 film, which starred Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and Amrita Rao in lead roles. It was followed by Jolly LLB 2, led by Akshay Kumar ,Huma Qureshi, Annu Kapoor, Kumud Mishra,and Saurabh Shukla. Both films are available for streaming on Disney+Hotstar.

Meanwhile, Akshay was last seen in the Aanand L Rai directorial Raksha Bandhan. The actor’s upcoming releases include the films Ram Setu, Selfiee, Oh My God 2, Capsule Gill, Mission Cinderella, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Katputli, a film with Mudassar Azziz, and the Soorarai Pottru remake helmed by Sudha Kongara, among others.
