Jagathy Sreekumar, the legendary actor is all set to make a grand comeback to the big screens, with the upcoming sci-fi film Vala, directed by Gaganachari fame Arun Chandu.

Jagathy Sreekumar, one of the most celebrated actors in Malayalam cinema, has been on a break from films after his accident. The legend’s only onscreen appearance in the 13 years is his cameo appearance in the Mammootty starrer CBI 5: The Brain in 2022. However, Jagathy Sreekumar is now set to make a grand comeback to the big screens with Vala, the upcoming sci-fi film helmed by Gaganachari fame director, Arun Chandu.
Recently, the cast and crew members of Vala took to their official social media handles, and dropped the character poster of Jagathy Sreekumar, to the much excitement of cinephiles. From the new poster, it is safe to assume that the legend is set to return to the big screens in the role of Professor Ambili aka Uncle Lunar, an eccentric scientist. The highly promising Vala poster suggests that Jagathy Sreekumar’s role in the film is going to be very different and memorable.

“The maestro of comedy is back !! Happy Birthday to the legendary Jagathy Sreekumar. Get ready to witness his iconic return in Vala as Professor Ambili, aka Uncle Lunar. The stage is set for a comeback like no other!” wrote director Arun Chandu, who shared the character poster on his social media handles. Notably, Jagathy’s look in the film reminds us of the famous British physicist and cosmologist, Stephen Hawking. More updates on the veteran actor’s role in the film, which reportedly belongs to the Gaganachari universe, are expected to be out soon.

The young filmmaker’s previous outing, Gaganachari, earned immense love from both the audiences and critics, with its excellent making and performances. Gokul Suresh, KB Ganesh Kumar, Anarkali Marikkar, and Aju Varghese played the lead roles in the sci-fi mockumentary film, which emerged as a sleeper hit.
