Sampath Nandi is co-producing the film, set amidst a forest backdrop, along with Dasari Rajender Reddy

Writer, director Sampath Nandi, who is set to direct Nagarjuna in an action entertainer, is also gradually making a mark as a producer. The filmmaker, who backed films like Gaalipatam, Paper Boy before, is teaming up with Rajender Reddy, to produce a film set amidst a forest backdrop titled Simbaa. The sci-fi thriller features Jagapathi Babu in the lead.
Simbaa, captioned ‘The Forest Man’, will be directed by Murali Mohan Reddy and produced under Raj Dasari Productions and presented by Sampath Nani Team Works. Commemorating World Environment Day, the first look of Simbaa with Jagapathi Babu was launched yesterday. The veteran actor will reportedly play a nature lover in the film.
The makers say Jagapathi Babu is cast as nature’s favourite child in the film and essays a character that resides in a forest. The first look of the film, where the actor is carrying a tree on his shoulders, raises your curiosity. “He’s nature’s favourite child, we’re proud to announce Jagapathi Babu garu’s presence in our film. Here we present Forest man, Simbaa,” the makers said.
More details about Simbaa will be announced shortly. D Krishna Saurabh is on board as the music director while Krishna Prasad is the cinematographer. Jagapathi Babu already had four releases this year - Good Luck Sakhi, Hero, Radhe Shyam and Ghani. He also plays a key role in Salman Khan’s Kabhie Eid Kabhie Diwali.
