Thallumaala actor Lukman Avaran’s latest movie Jackson Bazaar Youth, which had hit theatres in May, is finally out on OTT. The film, directed by Shamal Sulaiman and scripted by Usman Marath, released on two major streaming platforms.
Apart from Lukman, Jackson Bazaar Youth has Jaffer Idukki, Indrans, Chinnu Chandini, Fahim Safar, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Mathew Thomas, Anagha Ashok, Gopalan and Shankar Raj as part of its cast. The movie was produced by Zakariya Mohammed, who had helmed Sudani from Nigeria and Halal Love Story.
What is the story of Jackson Bazaar Youth?
The movie revolves around a group of families living in poramboke land in Kollam. They are set to be evicted by the government that aims to use the area as part of National Highway Development. How the popular music band from the place confront the police and its ramifications form the plot of the movie.
Though Jackson Bazaar Youth didn’t create a mark at the box office after its theatrical release on May 16, critics had hailed the performances of its lead actors Indrans, Jaffer Idukki and Lukman. The two veterans, especially, received praise for their poignant sequences in the film, which also has humour in the first half. Some of the custodial torture in the movie might be too hard to take some sections of the audience. Govind Vasantha has composed the music for Jackson Bazaar Youth, which had Deepak D Menon cranking the camera.

The movie dropped on two OTT platforms on June 23. Jackson Bazaar Youth is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video as well as Saina Play. Anna Ben and Arjun Ashokan’s comedy Thrishanku and Aju Varghese and Lal’s web series Kerala Crime Files are the two other major Malayalam OTT releases on June 23.
