On Instagram, the actor announced the re-release of her cult film Jab We Met in theatres under the Valentine’s Film Festival. But what is this new festival exactly? And what are the films included? Let’s dissect.
PVR INOX, as per reports, has started an initiative called Valentine’s Film Festival during Valentine’s week. One of the biggest theatre chains in India will re-release the modern romantic cult classics at their theatres and have them screened throughout the week. The list not only includes Hindi titles but also films from southern industries and some from the Punjab film industry. The cost of the tickets starts at Rs 112 and there is also a buy-one-get-one-free offer running in the south.
In total, the Valentine’s Film Festival will have 22 films from across the Indian film industry. From Bollywood, there is, of course, Jab We Met and Veer Zaara, which are going houseful even now. But there is also Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mohabbatein, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, De De Pyaar De, and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 1 and 2.
Malayalam films like Premam, Hridayam, and Ohm Shanthi Oshaana. Sita Ramam and Tholi Prema from the Telugu circuit. Kannada movies like Saptha Sagaradaache Ello Side A and Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye. Vaaranam Aayiram, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (VTV), and Minnale from the Tamil circuit are also included. Popular Punjabi movies like Qismat, Angrej, and Dil Diya Gallan are also re-running in the theaters.
Additionally, the festival has included only one Hollywood movie, the classic Titanic. The Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet-starrer will also have some limited shows. What are you waiting for?
