Jab We Met is my DDLJ: Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor has spoken about his movie Jab We Met. The actor called it his version of DDLJ (Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge). The Imtiaz Ali directorial has re-released in theatres and the craze for the movie is still the same!

“The film is my DDLJ, it is iconic,” Shahid told Siddharth Kannan. He was all praises for the director and called Jab We Met his magic and the reason Shahid and Kareena receive love for the film even today. “He made a film so relevant and I don’t think a love story like that has come out after that,” the actor shared.

Jab We Met saw Kareena Kapoor Khan in the role of Geet. She played the bubbly girl who, like many out there, chose the wrong guy and eventually, found the right one. Her character was always iconic but the movie has been even more in focus now because of both the leads. Shahid believes nobody could play Geet better than Kareena and many agree with him over the years and even today.

Shahid played the role of Aditya Kashyap in the film. Aditya is a rich businessman’s son who is unhappy in life. That is when he meets Geet and she shows him what life could be like if he learnt how to smile.

Towards the end of the film, Geet realizes that she is with the wrong man and ends up marrying Aditya. They have kids too. However, the movie ended at that. Many hope that this film will find a sequel.

Ask Shahid if he would be a part of the sequel, if ever made, he says that only if the sequel either matches up to or is better than the original. He would reject the script otherwise, the actor confirms in his chat.

Shahid is not in news only for Jab We Met but also his web series debut, Farzi. The show is directed by The Family Man makers Raj and DK.
