Jaane Jaan promo: More secrets unveiled as Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Maya D’Souza comes to light

Sujoy Ghosh has shared the character teaser for Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Jaane Jaan character, Maya D’Souza. Her personality traits and situations come to light with the new teaser. Maya’s bond with Jaideep Ahlawat’s Naren comes to light. With that, Maya is also seen having an intense and intimate chat with her daughter.

What is revealed further?

In the trailer, we saw Maya getting close to Karan (the cop played by Vijay Varma. They refuse to accept that but Naren (teacher played by Jaideep Ahlawat) says he knows what is happening. Maya is the ‘hot suspect’ in her husband’s murder case and the case has gone to Karan.

Meanwhile, now we see Maya even get intimate with Naren. She gives him a hug while claiming that she’s scared. Furthermore, Maya and her daughter share a secret. In the promo, Maya is seen telling her daughter to not speak to anyone about what happened the particular night. The night is considered to be the night when Maya’s husband was found dead.

What was the trailer all about?

In the trailer, Maya is introduced as the ‘hot padosi’ to Naren. A martial arts teacher, Naren knows some things that happened in the house. The trailer hinted that Maya was a victim of domestic violence. One night, things changed as her husband was found dead. Many assume that he was killed, most likely by her. Was that the truth though? The film explores that.

The Devotion of Suspect X adaptation

Jaane Jaan is the official Hindi movie adaptation of the Japanese bestselling novel, The Devotion of Suspect X. It is believed that Drishyam was adapted from The Devotion of Suspect X. However, Jaane Jaane does not hint at that yet. The film is helmed by Kahaani director Sujoy Ghosh and thus, expect elements of him as a filmmaker in this project.

Jaane Jaan is a Netflix original film. It will release on the OTT platform directly and will be available for streaming from September 21.
