The Sujoy Ghosh-directed film Jaane Jaan is set to premiere on Netflix in a week. The film boasts a talented cast, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma. In the film, which is the screen adaptation of the hit Japanese novel Devotion of Suspect X, Kareena plays the role of a single mother, while Jaideep is seen as her neighbour and a teacher. On the other hand, Vijay plays the role of a cop who is investigating a murder case.
Character promo reveals Vijay Varma's role
Now, a new character promo about Vijay is out and gives a glimpse into who Karan Anand is. In the video, he is seen visiting Kalimpong to find out about the murder of a cop. In the meantime, he befriends Maya (Kareena), who is actually the accused in the murder, and also realises that his classmate Naren (Jaideep) also stays in the small town. The video increases the suspense of what three intriguing characters will bring to the table through the eyes of Sujoy.

Vijay Varma on joining Jaane Jaan
Earlier, at the trailer launch, while talking about saying yes to Jaane Jaan, Vijay said that there were two aspects of this movie that made him want to be a part of it. It was expected of every law enforcement professional, and after having previously terrified viewers with his on-screen persona, he found the adjustment to be both refreshing and liberating. This was a nice break from the norm for him. Second, Sujoy made it possible for him to spend four months training as a grill master to acquire the physical prowess and talents required for the role. Vijay's very couch-friendly physique was not used to such demands.
Jaane Jaan is set to premiere on Netflix on the occasion of Kareena's birthday, that is, September 21, 2023.
