It's official! Nayanthara Chakravarthy to play the female lead in Kunjumon's Gentleman 2

The cat is out of the bag at last! There was a lot of speculation on who would play the female lead in producer KT Kunjumon's Gentleman 2, the sequel to the hit 1993 film starring Arjun Sarja, Madhoo, directed by Shankar. While it was rumoured that Nayanthara would be roped in for the film, such reports have now proved to be untrue. It's not Nayanthara but Malayalam actress Nayanthara Chakravarthy would play the lead in Gentleman 2. The news was confirmed by the star producer himself at 9.15 am today.

"Happy to Introduce #NayantharaaChakravarthy as the lead actress in #Gentlemen2 #ஜென்டில்மேன்2 #ജെന്റിൽമാൻ2 #జెంటిల్మాన్2 #ಜಂಟಲ್ಮನ್2," Kunjumon tweeted. The news was accompanied by an image where the producer is handing over a rose to the actress. For the uninitiated, Nayanthara Chakravarthy is a child artiste-turned-lead and made a name for herself in Malayalam cinema while venturing into Tamil and Telugu films as well. Some of her popular appearances were for films like Kathanayakudu, Kuselan, Silence and Kilukkam Kilukilukkam. 

While it's likely that Arjun Sarja will headline the sequel to Gentleman as well, the producer recently announced that Baahubali music director MM Keeravaani would compose music for the same. Surprisingly, the film doesn't have a director yet and a confirmation about the same is expected soon. Gentleman was a vigilante drama about a man who takes law into his own hands, trying to teach the corrupt a lesson. The film marked the directorial debut of Shankar and had music by AR Rahman.
