With speculations going rounds that actor Dhruv Vikram's next will be announced soon, production houses Applause Entertainment and Neelam Studios are set to join forces to back the actor's upcoming sports drama. The film will be helmed by director Mari Selvaraj and will also star Anupama Parameswaran in the lead role.

Actor Dhruv Vikram, son of actor Vikram, is already two films old. After making his debut with Adithya Varma, Dhruv was last seen sharing screen space with his father in Mahaan. Now, the young actor has announced his new and interesting project. Dhruv Vikram is set to join forces with director Mari Selvaraj for his next. The yet-to-be titled film will be bankrolled by Pa Ranjith's Neelam Studios and Applause Entertainment. It is scheduled to commence production in early 2024

The upcoming film will mark Dhruv’s first collaboration with Mari Selvaraj, who has helmed Karnan, Maamannan, and Pariyerum Perumal. The filmmaker is known for telling the stories of oppressed and societal discrimination based on caste.
It is touted to be a sports drama with the actor set to essay the role of Manathi Ganesan, an Asian Games Gold Medalist and Arjuna Awardee Kabaddi player. Actor Anupama Parameswaran who was last seen in Siren in Tamil, will play the female lead, marking her first project with Mari Selvaraj and Dhruv Vikram.
Pa Ranjith, who backed Pariyerum Perumal, will once again be taking the producer’s seat and co-produce the film along with Applause Entertainment which backed 2023’s hit crime thriller Por Thozhil.
The makers of the upcoming sports drama have not revealed the rest of the cast and crew. It is expected that the information will be revealed as the project progresses. The film does not have a release window yet.
