Tamil director Selvaraghavan is all set to make a sequel to his 2004 film, 7G Rainbow Colony. And the latest is that Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan, known for her coming-of-age drama movies like Thaneermathan Dinangal and Super Sharanaya, has been cast as the lead in the film. Earlier, there were reports about Aditi Shankar and Ivana being approached for the female lead, but now the buzz is that Anaswara has been finalised for the role.

The sequel to 7G Rainbow Colony is expected to start filming soon, and Ravi Krishna, who played the lead in the 2004 film, will star in the sequel too. Ravi was last seen in Thiagarajan Kumararaja's Aaranya Kaandam.

7G Rainbow Colony 2 shooting set to begin in September

The music for 7G Rainbow Colony 2 will be composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is set to collaborate with Selvaraghavan after Pudhupettai, NGK, and Naane Varuvean. The film will be produced by AM Rathnam and the shooting is slated to begin in September.

What is 7G Rainbow Colony about?

7G Rainbow Colony is a romantic drama with Ravi Krishna and Sonia Agarwal in the lead roles. The film was also shot in Telugu and released as 7G Brindavan Colony.

The movie revolves around Kadhir (Ravi Krishna), a regular boy living in a lower-middle-class household. Kadhir is irresponsible and not bright in his studies. Anitha (Sonia Agarwal) moves into a house near Kadhir's house. Kadhir is attracted to Anitha and tries to woo her. What happens next forms the crux of the story. The film was a huge commercial success and achieved cult status.

Anaswara Rajan's next is Yaariyan 2

Meanwhile, Anaswara will next be seen in Yaariyan 2, the Hindi remake of Anjali Menon's Bangalore Days. Her upcoming projects in Malayalam are Abraham Ozler and Thaneer Mathan Dinangal director Gireesh AD's rom-com.
