The filming of M Mohanan's family drama Oru Jaathi Oru Jaathakam, which stars the father-son duo Vineeth Sreenivasan and Sreenivasan, has concluded. The film, which went on floors on July 9, will see Sreenivasan and Vineeth sharing screen after their investigative comedy Kurukkan, which recently released on OTT.

Nikhila Vimal plays the female lead in the film opposite Vineeth. According to reports, Oru Jaathi Oru Jaathakam is about the life of a young man in the Malabar region of Kerala. The film has largely been shot in Northern Kerala and most of the characters speak in the Malabar slang. The movie will also explore the culture and rituals of the Malabar region.
Rakesh Mantodi, known for films like Thira and Godha, has penned the script of the film that is bankrolled by Maha Zubair. Babu Antony, Isha Talwar, Mridul Nair, and Aju Varghese are also part of the cast.

Vineeth plays Rajesh in Oru Jaathi Oru Jaathakam. In a previous interview with OTTplay, Vineeth had described the movie as "total madness."
M Mohanan is known for his films like 916, Manikyakallu and Aravindante Athidikal in which Sreenivasan and Vineeth essayed pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, Vineeth's last film to hit theatres was Kurukkan. A crime comedy, it revolves around the murder investigation of a social media influencer. Vineeth plays an eccentric cop in the film which also has Sreenivasan in a prominent role.

Vineeth has now taken a 1.5-year-long break from acting to work of his next directorial, Varshangalkku Shesham. The film is touted to be a romantic drama that revolves around the lives of some friends.
Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan will essay the leads in the film that also has Nivin Pauly in a cameo role. Aju Varghese, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Shaan Rahman, Basil Joseph, Neeta Pillai, and Neeraj Madhav are also part of the cast.
