The Archies, directed by Zoya Akhtar, is among the most-awaited films of 2023. The movie will be shown for the first time on Netflix India, and it will be Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda's (who plays the title character) first time on screen. The film's shooting has been in full swing in India as well as in international locations. Now, after months of busy schedules, The Archies has been wrapped, and Netflix India made the announcement on their social media pages.
They dropped several photos from the sets where the whole team is celebrating with a cake, getting emotional on the last day of the shoot, and also smiling while posing with the whole cast and crew.
"Grab your milkshakes and say Archiessss, because filming just wrapped and we can't wait to see the gang on-screen!" Netflix India captioned the post.
Earlier, while talking about helming The Archies, Zoya said in a statement that being asked to create an Indian adaptation and the first movie for this incredibly well-known Archies property has been an amazing honour. Given that she grew up reading Archie Comics, this is a strange experience. It's very exciting for the filmmaker to bring these loved characters to a new generation while keeping the nostalgia of the original comic. They can't wait to take the viewers to the fantastical town of Riverdale, which is set in the Anglo-Indian neighbourhood of India.
The film, which centres on the renowned gang The Archies, masterfully captures the youthful enthusiasm, hope, and excitement of the 1960s. It still promises to have something for every generation since it is a musical experience filled with youth, rebellion, friendships, first loves, and everything about young adults. The lead roles in The Archies are played by Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Yuvraj Menda, Agastya Nanda, and Vedang Raina. The film is made by Tiger Baby, Graphic India, and Archie Comics, and is directed by Zoya Akhtar.
