Arun Vijay and Bala’s Vanangaan was first launched with actor Suriya. However, the latter opted out due to creative differences

We had earlier reported that actor Arun Vijay is working with filmmaker Bala for upcoming Tamil film Vanangaan. The makers recently announced that the shooting for the film has been wrapped up. It is to be noted that the project was initially launched with Suriya playing the lead role. However, the actor had to opt out of the project and was replaced by Arun Vijay.
In a social media post, Arun Vijay posted pictures from the sets of Vanangaan and said that the film's shooting has been wrapped up. He also penned an emotional note and thanked Bala while saying it was honour and privilege to work with the filmmaker.
Calling it a "truly priceless experience", Arun Vijay wrote, "Feeling the exhilaration on the completion of an extraordinary character in a project very close to my heart." The actor also thanked his team, including producer Suresh Kamatchi, action coordinator Stunt Silva and composer GV Prakash who worked with him in the project.
Besides Arun Vijay, the upcoming film also stars Roshni Prakash, Samuthirakani, Mysskin, Ridha, Chhaya Devi, Bala Sivaji, Shanmugarajan, Yohan Chacko, Kavitha Gopi, Brindha Sarathy, Mai Pa Narayanan, Aruldas, Munish Sivagurunath and others.
The film is shot by cinematographer RB Gurudev, with Sathish Suriya as the editor. RK Nagu is the art director of Vanangaan. It is produced by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions in association with Bala's B Studios. A release date for the film is yet to be announced by the makers.
The makers had released the first look and teaser of the film, piquing the interest of the audience on what the plot could be about. The first look showed Arun Vijay carrying idols of anti-caste and atheist leader Periyar and Hindu deity Ganesha in each of his hands. Meanwhile, Arun Vijay was last seen in Mission: Chapter 1 which is currently streaming on Aha Tamil.
