The year was 2011 when Zoya Akhtar, the filmmaker known for her unique cinematic language, chose to go on a road trip with a camera and some stunning actors—Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, and Farhan Akhtar in the lead, alongside Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was born, and the movie changed the landscape for the travel movie genre in Hindi cinema forever. 

The movie, which was loved by the audience in theatres and was then lapped up on streaming too, is one of the most beautiful films to have ever come out of Hindi cinema. For years, there have been rumours about the makers planning a sequel to the film, but nothing came to fruition. Hrithik Roshan, on April 4, 2025, attended the Rangotsav event in Atlanta, United States. It was here that the actor made many massive revelations. He spoke about directing Krrish 4, what it means for him to debut as a filmmaker, his excitement about working with Jr NTR in War 2, his dream to work with Christopher Nolan, and much more.  In response, he called the movie his favourite. When asked to describe it in five words, Hrithik said, “Freedom from the shatters of the mind. That's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara." Further, the host asked Hrithik Roshan if there is a possibility that there could be a sequel to the film. Hrithik said that he has the same dream. Talking about Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2, he added, "But meri jo instincts hain woh keh rahi hain ki aisa hoga. Kab hoga pata nahi, but hoga (But my instincts are telling me that it will happen. I don't know when, but it will happen)."

Hrithik Roshan Wants To Work With Christopher Nolan

When he took the stage at his USA tour in Atlanta to mark his 25 years as a part of the Indian Entertainment Industry, he was asked about his dream directors that he wants to work with—and he named Christopher Nolan.Hrithik Roshan spoke about his admiration for Christopher Nolan and the cinema he creates. Christopher Nolan is known for his films like Inception, Oppenheimer, Memento, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and more. When asked about the dream directors, he first named his father Rakesh Roshan and said how that dream got fulfilled right in the beginning. It was in the next statement that he left the audience cheering and applauding as he said he would actually like to work with Christopher Nolan. He said, "Now, I’d actually like to work with Christopher Nolan. He is one of my favorite directors." While there are no reports on Hrithik Roshan taking the Hollywood bus, you never know.
