Is Vikram Chatterjee debuting as a singer? Here is what we know

Is Vikram Chatterjee debuting as a singer? Recently a photo went viral on social media. It shows musician Rupam Islam and Vikram singing together. From then on, it has been speculated that Vikram is the hero as well as the singer in Arindam Bhattacharya’s film Durgapur. 

In an interview with Anandabazar Online, Vikram said, “I can somehow sing a bit. But I don’t have the calibre to sing in the films.” He added that he did a video shoot on Friday for the promotion of Durgapur. Rupam Islam sang the song ‘Cyanide’ there. Vikram only lip-synced. He clarified, “It gave me goosebumps every time I turned right. Rupam was at my side! I grew up listening to his songs.” Vikram recollected that Sonu Nigam sang the songs for his film Pariah. Vikram said that he was lucky to get his favorite singers in his films. 

Will both of them be seen in the film? Arindam refuted the idea. The song will be used only in the promotion. Rupam’s song was written and composed by Tri Music. Did Vikram prepare beforehand to perform with Rupam? Vikram sounded confident, “I played singers in the series Tansener Tanpura and the serial Fagun Bou. Hence, I am adept at lip-syncing.”
