An old video of a teenage boy grooving to the beats of the Muqabla song is confusing the internet. The Twitter user who posted the video captioned it, "Guess whoooo." And that Twitter account in question continued to imply that it was Tamil superstar Vijay. The old and grainy video footage has divided the internet. While some seem to agree with its young Vijay, others have outrightly rejected the theory.
Some pointed out that when the Muqabla song from Kadhalan was released in 1994, Vijay had already started acting in the movie. "Please don't share this is not @actorvijay brother. This was from the Kadhalan song released in 1994-95. That time Vijay was above the age of 19," commented a Twitter user.
"Bro, I never said it’s Vijay! What if the Audio is edited?," reasoned the Twitter account that goes by the name Dr. Bohra MD. AIRD, which is also the name of the main antagonist in Superstar Rajinikanth's blockbuster Enthiran.
Judging from all the comments on the viral video, it seems many think that it's Vijay in it.
Vijay made his screen debut as a lead actor with Naalaiya Theerpu (1992), which was written and directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar. And by the end of the 90s, he emerged as one of the bankable stars of Tamil cinema. With films like Kushi, Friends, Thirumalai and Ghilli, he established himself as the new king of the box office in Tamil Nadu. He has since gone on to achieve superstardom with a massive fan following across the country.
Vijay's last film Varisu grossed over Rs 300 crore from its worldwide theatrical release. His market is so strong and responds to even some of his poorly rated movies. For example, his 2022 movie Beast was panned by the critics but it ended up doing the theatrical business to the tune of more than 200 crores.
Vijay is now busy shooting for Leo with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film also stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Priya Anand, Mysskin and Gautham Vasudev Menon.
