Director Aanand L Rai is currently enjoying the buzzing success of his Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. Amid this, he opened up about the much-awaited third installment of Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan's Tanu Weds Manu. In a new interview, Aanand said the movie is expected to begin shooting by mid-2025.

In a new interview with Hindustan Times, director Aanand L Rai addressed the speculations about the third installment of Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan starrer Tanu Weds Manu.

He shared, "It only depends on the story, nothing else. We are working on the story. It is a big responsibility to get the characters back with a bigger story. I am on it, and I will be on floors the day it’s cracked.”

Aanand says 'work is on in full swing' 

The filmmaker added that if he only wants to make money out of it, he can start the shoot in the next three months but if he wants to tell a story to his audience for more satisfaction than what they have, then he has to work hard. "Work is on in full swing. The pressure to live up to the benchmark the second part set is real," Rai added. 

Plots of Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns 

In the first part, we see Manu, an NRI doctor, come to India as his parents are searching for a bride for him. In the process, he falls in love with Tanu. However, Tanu a fun-loving girl, seeks his help in eloping with her lover. In the end, Tanu and Manu get married. 

The second part follows Tanu's return to her hometown after putting Manu in an asylum. Meanwhile, her husband Manu is in for round two of madness as he encounters her wife's look-alike.

The cast of the films also feature Jimmy Shergill, Swara Bhasker, Deepak Dobriyal, Eijaz Khan, Rajendra Gupta, K. K. Raina, and others.
