Salman Khan is among those Bollywood actors who more often than not gets highlighted for his good deeds. Over the years, Salman has also carefully sought out projects where his character helps cleanse out the filth in the society. Whether playing Robinhood in Dabangg, the strong sentiment in Jai Ho!, or now, Sikandar in well, AR Murugadoss' Sikandar. The actor has finally reacted to whether the Eid release is inspired by him in real-life.
On being asked the question, Salman instantly told India TV that the story of Sikandar is rather original. He specified that the film is penned by AR Murugadoss and that he brought the story to Sajid Nadiadwala, who then discussed the script with Salman. "That's how I came to know about this film and its story. I love the script and when Sajid asked when can we do this, I told him whenever Murugadoss wants to," Khan recalled.
Salman Khan's movie is not a gift from him for his fans. He rather wants his fans to give him Eidi by watching the movie in theatres tomorrow i.e. on Sunday, day 1, March 30.
Although Salman Khan has predicted that Rs. 200 crore is the benchmark for his movies now, the reality is far from that. In truth, Sikandar has barely earned over Rs. 10 crore in advance bookings, or at least that was the case on day 1. Given the current scenario, it is doubtful whether Sikandar can mint Rs. 100 crore with just one day i.e. opening day. Even if Monday is Eid, not all offices remain closed for the festival. Thus, the movie loses out a great deal on what it could have otherwise earned over the weekend. Now, it all depends on Sikandar's opening day numbers. Even if the movie earns slightly above Rs. 50 crores, it might be able to make a comeback with some word-of-mouth. But then again, there are a lot of factors involved that would decide whether Sikandar can earn Rs. 200 crore at the Box Office.
This is your last chance to watch Salman Khan's previous Eid release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan before Sikandar releases in theatres tomorrow. So, what are you waiting for?
