Director Shankar, who is awaiting the release of his film Game Changer with Ram Charan in the lead role, had some interesting updates to share about the announcement he had earlier made regarding a project with Ranveer Singh.

A few years back, it was announced that Shankar would join forces with Ranveer Singh for the Hindi remake of the filmmaker's hit film Anniyan. Now down the line, not many updates about the film have come out. What is the status? Shankar has now reacted to it.

An update on Shankar’s Anniyan remake with Ranveer Singh

Director Shankar’s Anniyan starring Vikram in triple roles, became a blockbuster success. It was eventually announced that a Hindi remake of Anniyan would be made featuring Ranveer in the lead role.

Now a few years later, even as no update about the project has come out, director Shankar on the sidelines of promoting Game Changer, addressed the topic. When Shankar was speaking about working in other languages, the director revealed how he has been getting Hindi offers since the time of Gentleman. "The project should be set, be it director, actor and director, or the story, dates. Even now, we had planned to make a film with Ranveer Singh, and we are planning to make it big."

Is Anniyan Hindi remake on? 

When asked if the Anniyan Hindi remake is still on, Shankar said that times have changed since the project was first announced and several pan-Indian films have come. "We are looking to do something bigger,” Shankar responded without giving much information.

It is to be noted that Shankar’s Hindi project with Ranveer Singh was first announced as a Hindi remake. The Tamil film stars Vikram in the lead role, as an orthodox and rule-abiding man who suffers from multiple personality disorder, which makes him into a ruthless vigilante punishing offenders.
