Rukmini Maitra recently finished her shooting for Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s Binodini – Ekti Natir Kotha. Soon after the wrap, she went on a vacation to Maldives. Now, the rumour mill went into overdrive with suggestions that she might pair up with Jeet. There has been no official announcement as of now. Neither Jeet’s production house nor Rukmini Maitra said anything. Hence we have to wait to know exactly what will happen.
Previously Rukmini worked in the film Switzerland which was produced by Jeet. Rukmini acted opposite Abir in that film. This time, she is to act opposite Jeet.
Tussles between the fans of Jeet and Dev are frequent on social media. However, they support one another at work. Rukmini was seen well-wishing Jeet on several occasions. Rukmini has worked in Jeet’s production house in Switzerland, opposite Abir Chatterjee.
Subhasree Ganguly once said that Jeet is her favourite hero. Nusrat Jahan's debut hero was also Jeet. Many actresses, including Srabanti Chatterjee, Mimi Chakraborty, Koel Mallik, and Sayantika Banerjee, worked with Jeet. The Koel-Jeet duo was a hit recipe in Tollywood. Hence, when Jeet's film is announced, the first question is who the heroine will be. This time, Rukmini will be an added attraction in the film.
Jeet's film Chengis is to be released on Eid. This will be released in Hindi as well. This will tell a story of the Kolkata underworld in the period 1970-1990. Rajesh Ganguly directed the film.
