Is Rohit Shetty planning to make a standalone film with Deepika Padukone in the cop-verse? Here’s what we know

Rohit Shetty has majorly been synonymous with cop-verse. Testimonies to the same are in the form of films like Singham series, Suryavanshi, Simmba and the recent ‘Indian Police Force’, which stars Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi in the leading roles. Besides this, Rohit is equally busy with the shooting of his next instalment in the cop-verse which has been titled Singham Again, which stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor in the leading roles.

In a recent interaction with ANI, Rohit Shetty spoke about making a standalone film with Deepika Padukone in the cop-verse, which is definitely a dream come true for many of the actress’ fans. Elaborating on the film that is being planned with Deepika Padukone, Rohit Shetty revealed that, she (Deepika Padukone) was like one of the heroes and what they were doing with it is that they would go with her story.

He added that they would make a film which has only Deepika and her story. Citing examples of films like Singham, Simmba and Sooryavanshi, Rohit drove home the point that, just like these films, they will be introducing characters in Singham Again and post that, they would be telling their stories.

As for the recently premiered Indian Police Force, it deals with the petrifying trials of the character portrayed by Sidharth Malhotra, who is of the Delhi Police Officer SP Kabir Malik IPS. His major fight involves his arch enemy Zarar (played by Mayyank Taandon), a man who was radicalised at an extremely early age and had made up his mind to become a terrorist. Besides him, the series also revolves around the other two main characters Joint CP Vikram Bakshi IPS (played by Vivek Oberoi) and Gujarat ATS Chief Tara Shetty (played by Shilpa Shetty Kundra).
