Nayanthara is known to be the superstar of South Indian cinema. She has been a part of numerous films in the Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu film industries. There have been several reports making the rounds that Nayanthara is likely to make her Bollywood debut soon. However, now it's being rumoured that the actor will be making her OTT debut with Netflix original show Baahubali: Before the Beginning.

The series is based on the novel The Rise of Sivagami wherein Wamiqa Gabbi has been roped in to play the titular role. As per reports in PeepingMoon, the series will also feature another female lead played by none other than Nayanthara. However, her role has been kept under wraps by the makers and the official announcement will be made anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Wamiqa has replaced Mrunal Thakur in the series who was earlier cast to play the leading role. 

Baahubali: Before the Beginning is a part of the Baahubali franchise but is a prequel to the movies and backed by its maker SS Rajamouli. It is touted to be one of the most expensive shows created in India which is likely to go on the lines of Game of Thrones

The movies which were released in two parts starred Prabhas in the titular role alongside Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishna, Sathyaraj and Nassar. 

While the Netflix series will be based on the character Ramya played in the movies. 

Talking about Wamiqa who is stepping in as the leading role, was last seen in Disney+ Hotstar show Grahan which streamed recently. The actor who is a popular face in the South and Punjabi film industry will next be seen in Anushka Sharma produced Netflix film Mai starring Sakshi Tanwar as the protagonist.
