Netflix has dispelled rumors about Leonardo DiCaprio in Squid Game 3. The Hollywood star apparently finished filming a secret appearance for the third season last year, according to an OSEN story from January 1. The article states that they are withholding details about his character, including his modest role, to avoid spoilers.

Rumors of Leonardo DiCaprio's role in Squid Game Season 3

Netflix wasted little time in denying the allegations. The spokesperson said the rumors are completely false. The third season of Squid Game has completely and utterly denied Leonardo DiCaprio's involvement.

Meanwhile, Netflix has scheduled the launch of Squid Game 3 for 2025. According to Netflix's announcement on January 1, Squid Game 2 broke all records in its first week of release with 68 million views, becoming the most-watched first week in the OTT giant's history. Netflix also released a unique poster for Season 3 to go along with the news.

The poster promises an exciting new adventure, featuring a new robotic character named Cheol Su, who unexpectedly appeared in the scene after the credits of Season 2's finale, and the legendary Young Hee—the indelible icon from the "Red Light, Green Light" game.

Due to the simultaneous filming of Seasons 2 and 3, new episodes could potentially air in mid to late 2025, allowing for a slightly longer post-production period. The real question, after Season 2's crazy action, is what will happen in those next episodes, whenever that may be.

Potential continuation of key storylines

Fans are eagerly anticipating the third season, hoping that the terrifying, life-threatening journey will extend beyond South Korea's borders. Considering the show's global popularity, including characters from different cultural backgrounds would undoubtedly increase the amount of conflict already present.

Some fans are hoping that the black market's central role in last season's plot would lead to a continuation of the organ harvesting ring scenario from season 2.

Fans of Squid Game are eagerly awaiting news on the narrowing of the release date for Season 3, but so far, neither the plot nor the casting of the show has been announced.
