Earlier today, when KGF makers Hombale Films posted on social media that a new announcement was due tomorrow morning at 9.50 am, there was widespread speculation about what it could possibly be. Several scenarios played out online, including a confirmation of a Sudha Kongara-Suriya film (the banner had announced a film with the Soorarai Pottru director earlier), a Salaar (Prashant Neel’s next with Prabhas) update, KGF3 official confirmation or even a new film with Yash.
The overwhelming crowd favourite, though, was the possibility of Hombale Films backing director Santhosh Ananddram’s film with Raghavendra Rajkumar’s son, Yuva Rajkumar. The fact that the production house mentioned it as a new era on screens was cited as the reason for Yuva Rajkumar’s launchpad being the most likely candidate. While several fans quite literally laid out a red carpet for Yuva with their welcome messages, some netizens were disapproving and hopeful that Hombale Films would not support nepotism after making it one of the biggest hit dialogues of the KGF franchise.
Hombale Films, which began its filmi journey with Ninnindale, starring the late Puneeth Rajkumar, also backed his films with Santhosh, Raajakumara and Yuvarathnaa and had announced a fourth collaboration, Dvitva, to be directed by Pawan Kumar, which, unfortunately did not take off due to the actor’s untimely demise. There was buzz of a third film too with Santhosh, which has been rumoured to have been changed around as a launchpad for Yuva.
The second son of Raghavendra, Yuva was earlier supposed to be launched with a film called Yuva Ranadheera Kanteerava, but that project did not take off. Sources suggest that Santhosh has had a photoshoot with the debutant actor and an official announcement was expected either on April 23 on Yuva’s birthday, or the following day, on his grandfather’s birth anniversary.
