In October last year, Kannada filmmaker-actor S Narayan had released a trailer of his next directorial, 5D, which he has now followed up with a theatrical trailer. While the content of both is pretty much the same, this time around, there are a few dialogues from the film thrown in for good measure. At all the press meets for the film, the filmmaker, who is also acting in a pivotal role in 5D, has remained tight-lipped about the subject of the film.

But given that Narayan plays a cop and Adityaa appears to be a mask-clad vigilante, it has been said that the film is a crime thriller with elements of horror as well. Co-directed by the filmmaker’s son, Pankaj, the film also stars Aditi Prabhudeva in the lead. The theatrical trailer, which dropped earlier today hints that the film will release in theatres shortly. In earlier interactions with the media, Aditi had said that she plays an autorikshaw driver in the film.

5D is S Narayan’s return to direction after several years and is his first collaboration with Adityaa as director and actor. The filmmaker was apparently keen to launch Adityaa in Chandra Chakori, but the actor’s father, SV Rajendra Singh Babu had already planned his debut with Love, following which Narayan made his moie with Srrimurali. Although Adityaa’s home banner has produced several films that Narayan acted in, this is the first time they are working together. Produced by Swathi Kumar for the banner One to Hundred, 5D sees Kala Samrat Narayan fill in as music composer and lyricist as well. 5D will be Adityaa’s first release since 2021’s Munduvareda Adhyaya, in which he played an investigative officer.
