Irugapatru out on OTT: You can stream this hit relationship drama right now

Irugapatru was probably one of the most awaited movies in the OTT space. After a successful theatrical run, exceeding the initial expectations of the trade, Irugapatru arrived on the streaming on Monday .

Irugapatru is now available for streaming on Netflix. Written and directed by Yuvaraj Dhayalan, the hit relationship drama boasts a stellar ensemble, including Vikram Prabhu, Shraddha Rama Srinath, Vidharth, Shri, Abarnathi and Saniya Iyyapan.

Irugapatru was released in cinemas on October 6 along with a bunch of other movies. The humble drama about modern-day relationship issues was dwarfed by a significantly bigger rival like Vijay Antony's Raththam and Trisha's The Road.

Before its release, Irugapatru didn't receive a lot of attention in the media and fell short of inspiring the curiosity of theatre-going audiences. However, the movie overcame all the initial obstacles and remained steady at the box office, while other new releases fizzled out.

Irugapatru benefited from good reviews from the critics and a strong word of mouth from the audiences. It managed to hold on its own even against the Leo juggernaut. While the Thalapathy Vijay-starrer took over virtually all screens in Tamil Nadu, Irugapatru managed to retain a strong presence across cinemas. And it continued its slow and steady performance even as the state was dominated by the fan frenzy surrounding Leo.

Made on a tight budget, Irugapatru emerged as a profitable venture for its producers, Potential Studios and Dream Warrior Pictures.
