Nayattu and Joseph star Joju George’s latest movie Iratta’s OTT rights have already been grabbed by a leading OTT platform. The movie, which hit theatres on February 3, is directed by debutant Rohit MG Krishnan and co-produced by Joju along with Charlie director Martin Prakkat.
The film has Joju essaying a double role for the first time in his career. He plays police officers Vinod and Pramod in the investigative drama, which also has Anjali, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Manoj KU, Srikanth Murali, Sreeja, Srinda, Sabumon Abdusamad and Shebin Benson in pivotal roles.
Iratta, which focuses on the strained relationships in the lives of the twins Vinod and Pramod, starts off as an investigation drama after the death of a police officer. It then traces back to the past of both Vinod and Pramod, while also laying the clues for what led to the presumed killing of the cop.
In an earlier interview with us, Rohit, who has also scripted the film, told us, “Joju ettan would do one role and then take a 10-minute break to change into the other character’s getup. But when he comes back and performs, he plays an entirely different character. He even takes care of the most minute nuances and I believe this has come out well because of how good an artiste he is.” Joju’s double role in the movie as well as its haunting climax are its highlights.
The film’s OTT rights have been bagged by Netflix, which is expected to begin streaming Iratta by February last week or March first week. The film released in theatres on Friday along with Soubin Shahir and Arjun Ashokan’s horror-comedy Romancham, Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Bibin George’s entertainer Vedikettu and Anu Sithara and Aneesh Gopinathan’s Momo in Dubai, which is written by Sudani from Nigeria director Zakariya and Ayisha’s scriptwriter Aashif Kakkodi.
