It looks like September 28 is going to be one packed week for Tamil film goers. With the latest news coming in that Raghava Lawrence's Chandramukhi 2 release is likely to get pushed and slotted for the week after, September 28 has become an overcrowded Thursday. Check out the five releases of the week.
Iraivan
Director Ahmed is back with a thriller starring Jayam Ravi, Nayanthara and Rahul Bose. The plot revolves around a 'Smiley killer' Bramma, who has murdered 12 young girls in a brutal manner and is under the observation of psychologists. Jayam Ravi, a police officer, wants to get justice for the victims at any cost. The trailer of the film came under a lot of praise. Music for the film is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. While the cinematography is by Hari K Vedanth, editing is by Manikanda Balaji.
Ratham
Vijay Antony's Ratham, which is helmed by CS Amudhan, features three leading ladies- Ramya Nambeesan, Nandita Swetha and Mahima Nambiar. The plot revolves around an unusual crime that has 'never occurred before'. Vijay Antony, whose last three films failed to make a dent at the box office, is looking forward to this thriller. The film is bankrolled by Kamal Bohra, Lalitha Dhananjayan, B Pradeep and Pankaj Bohra of Infiniti Film Ventures.
Chithha
Chithha is Siddharth's second release of the year after Takkar. The film, directed by SU Arun Kumar, is a hard-hitting emotional drama . As the name suggests, Siddharth plays the paternal uncle and the plot delves into his relationship with his neice. The plot also revolves around a problem faced by the child as her uncle comes to her rescue. The film also stars Nimisha Sajayan and music by Dhibu Ninam Thomas.
Parking
Harish Kalyan and Indhuja Ravichandran's Parking revolves around a common parking space which is shared by two families and the problems that arise because of that. Parking is directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan and the supporting cast includes MS Bhasker, Rama Rajendran, Prathana Nathan, and Ilavarasu. Music for the film is by Sam CS. While Jiju Sunny has handled the cinematography, Philomin Raj has done the editing.
Chandramukhi 2
P Vasu is back with the second film in the Chandramukhi 2 franchise. The story revolves around Vettaiyan and Chandramukhi, the characters essayed by Rajinikanth and Jyotika in the 2005 movie. The sequel stars Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut. The film has an ensemble star cast with Vadivelu reprising his character. Music is by Oscar winner MM Keeravani.
