April 16, Saturday, turned out to be a momentous occasion for Sachin Tendulkar fans as the master batter's son Arjun Tendulkar was finally awarded his IPL game. Arjun's much-awaited debut has been on the cards for a long time, ever since he was picked by the Mumbai Indians in the 2021 auction, and cricket lovers have been keenly looking forward to seeing the young cricketer in action.

Following a two-year wait, Arjun Tendulkar finally stepped onto the ground in the Mumbai blue and made his grand debut in IPL 2023. To make things all the more special, Arjun's first appearance in the league occurs in front of his home crowd at Mumbai's Wankhede cricket stadium with his father seated in the dugout and sister Sara Tendulkar cheering him on from the crowd.

And the internet cannot stop gushing over this rather endearing moment and netizens have come forward wishing Arjun Tendulkar all the best for his big game. Actor Saiyami Kher, who has taken on a new stint as a broadcaster for IPL 2023, was among the first ones to write about Arjun's debut and express her delight through a lovely tweet.

"I cannot stop smiling! There’s a Tendulkar in the playing 11 good luck Arjun. Have a good one," wrote the Choked actress.

Sachin Tendulkar's former Indian cricket teammate and arguably his most memorable batting opening partner, Sourav Ganguly, wished Arjun ahead of the game and wrote that he was incredibly happy to see the young lad get his due finally. "The champion dad must be so proud .. wish him all the best," wrote Ganguly.

Unanimously, social media has given Arjun Tendulkar a heartwarming welcome and showered its collective goodwill on the budding cricketer.

Playing against Nitish Rana's Kolkata Knight Riders, Arjun opened the bowling for the Mumbai Indians and used his tall build to generate an impressive swing. He mightn't have been able to hit great speeds but looked very settled as he troubled the batters by pitching in the right areas.
