Shefali Shah, Jim Sarbh, and Vir Das have all secured nominations at the 2023 International Emmy Awards. This prestigious event, hosted by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, revealed its lineup of 57 nominees hailing from 20 different countries, competing across 14 distinct categories.
While Shefali Shah earned a nomination in the category of 'Best Performance by an Actress' for her exceptional performance in Delhi Crime Season 2, Jim Sarbh's stellar performance in Rocket Boys landed him a nomination for 'Best Performance by an Actor.' Actor and stand-up comic Vir Das also clinched a nomination for his Netflix show, Vir Das: Landing, at the Emmys.
Shefali Shah feels overwhelmed
Reacting to the nomination, Shefali Shah took to Instagram to share her disbelief and gratitude. "OMGGGGG I still can’t believe it. Feel so so honoured to be nominated at the International Emmys alongside such esteemed artists. This one is really special and more so because it is for a character I am very very close to, Vartika Chaturvedi and for my favourite show #DelhiCrime2. This is for all of us in #DelhiCrime," she wrote on her Instagram page.
It's noteworthy that it's the second big nomination for the Delhi Crime series. In 2019, the first season of the series, which was inspired by the tragic 2012 Delhi gang rape case, received an Emmy nod for Outstanding Drama Series, making it the first Indian series to achieve this remarkable feat.
