We had earlier reported that actors Naveen Chandra and Sunainaa would be headlining an upcoming Prime Video series titled Inspector Rishi. The platform released the trailer for the series on social media on Tuesday while unveiling its new content slate. Inspector Rishi is set to premiere on March 29.

Set in a rural Tamil Nadu area, the trailer boasts imagery of lush greenery and exotic wildlife. However, there is something sinister lurking in the forests and inspector Rishi, who is helping solve a crime, must face unseen forces to know more about the issue. The trailer shows insects and animals building homes out of human dead bodies, while there is a group of cops trying to solve a murder case. A seemingly strong force surrounding a supernatural element at play is hinted.
The series is created and directed by Nandhini JS, with Shukdev Lahiri serving as the producer. The series will premiere on Prime Video on March 29. It is part of Prime Video’s upcoming Indian slate of content.

Inspector Rishi was created by filmmaker Nandhini JS, who previously did Nila Nila Odi Va, starring Sunainaa. The upcoming series features actor Naveen Chandra in the titular role, along with a cast including Sunainaa, Kanna Ravi, Malini Jeevarathnam, Srikrishna Dayal, and Kumaravel in pivotal roles.

Speaking about the series, Naveen Chandra said that it was challenging as well as a transformative experience to play the lead character. The series marks his second collaboration with Prime Video after he starred in the Prime Video film Ammu.
In the series, Sunainaa will play the role of Kathy, a forest officer who will aid the inspector. “The creators of the show have sculpted my character with utmost detail, and her characteristics resonated with me on a profound level. The supportive atmosphere on set, coupled with the talented cast and crew, allowed me to fully embody Kathy’s gentle yet fierce persona,” shared Sunainaa in a statement.
