Prime Video, on Thursday, announced a new Tamil original series titled Inspector Rishi. The horror crime drama series, starring Naveen Chandra in the lead role, is set to premiere on March 29. The series is created by Nandhini JS and is backed by Shukdev Lahiri, under the banner of Make Believe Productions.
The series stars Naveen Chandra, who was seen in films like Jigarthanda DoubleX, Month of Madhu in the lead role, along with actors Sunainaa, Kanna Ravi, Malini Jeevarathnam, Srikrishna Dayal, and Kumaravel.

Prime Video, which has created a catalogue for Tamil original web series like Sweet Kaaram Coffee, Suzhal, and The Village, is back with yet another series. Titled Inspector Rishi, the horror crime drama series will feature Naveen Chandra in the lead role. Besides him, the series will also feature actors, including Sunainaa, Kanna Ravi, Malini Jeevarathnam, Srikrishna Dayal, and Kumaravel, among others.
Inspector Rishi will consist of ten episodes and revolve around the titular lead character who is at the helm of solving a set of peculiar murders that are entwined with supernatural occurrences. His probe into the case gets him deep into knowing the dark secrets filled with horror and suspense, as he has to confront formidable obstacles, both in terms as a cop and personally.

Inspector Rishi is created by director Nandhini JS. Speaking about the project, she called it a gratifying experience. “Integrating a police procedural with horror and mystery has allowed me to explore new dimensions of storytelling, delving deeper into the eerie and enigmatic world of Inspector Rishi,” said Nandhini in a press statement. She also hailed the impressive performances of her cast.

Aparna Purohit, head of originals, India and Southeast Asia, Prime Video, called Inspector Rishi as a “spine-chilling horror crime drama series”. She also spoke how Nandhini has entwined the female gaze in a crime investigation series, in order to provide a great cinematic experience.
