Insidious: The Red Door is all set to leave Netflix on October 5, 2024. However, if you haven't planned on catching up with the supernatural horror film any time soon, you can watch it later on a new OTT platform. Yes, beginning October 6, 2024, the Patrick Wilson directorial debut will begin streaming on SonyLIV (OTTplay Premium). Blumhouse, Screen Gems, and Stage 6 produce the film, which is a direct sequel to 2013's Insidious: Chapter 2 and the fifth in the Insidious series, with the studio's assistance. Along with Jason Blum's Blumhouse Productions company, original filmmaker James Wan also acts as a producer. Williams, Ty Simpkins, Rose Byrne, Andrew Astor, Steve Coulter, Joseph Bishara, Whannell, Angus Sampson, and Lin Shaye all return from their prior film roles. Hiam Abbass and Sinclair Daniel are now part of the ensemble.

The final chapter for the Lambert family

In Insidious: The Red Door, Patrick Wilson reunites the original cast of the horror movie with Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins, Andrew Astor, and Patrick Wilson as the Lambert family in their last horrific chapter. Josh and Dalton, now college students, must confront their family's sinister history, as well as a slew of new, even more terrifying horrors that hide behind the red door, if they ever hope to lay their demons to rest.

On July 7, 2023, Sony Pictures Releasing released Insidious: The Red Door to theatres in the US. Despite critics' mixed reactions, the film became the highest-grossing installment in the franchise, earning over $189 million around the world. The 51st Saturn Awards nominated it for Best Horror Film.

Upcoming spinoff

The Insidious series will reportedly get a spinoff. Threads: An Insidious Tale will feature Mandy Moore and Kumail Nanjiani in leading roles, with Moon Knight's Jeremy Slater penning the script and making his directorial debut, and James Wan acting as producer. The spinoff will follow the story of a married couple (Nanjiani and Moore) who use magic to go back in time and save their daughter from a tragic accident. Unsurprisingly, serious repercussions follow. Is the ending scene of The Red Door a hint that the Lambert family may have more adventures in this realm after Threads? What happens next is anyone's guess.
