Malayalam actor Indrajith Sukumaran has been vocal about making his foray into direction for quite some time now. A few years ago, the actor had also said that he had a subject in mind. Recent rumours suggested that the Pathaam Valavu actor has now finished scripting the film and is gearing up to make his debut as a filmmaker.
As per reports, Indrajith has written the story, screenplay and dialogues for the movie and has already had discussions with Mohanlal to play the lead in the movie. Indrajith, however, denies this development. When OTTplay approached the actor for a confirmation, Indrajith said, “It’s fake news. It’s not true.”

The actor, who was last seen in Theerpu with brother Prithviraj Sukumaran, is now gearing up for the release of Rajeev Ravi’s much-delayed project Thuramukham, which is now set to hit theatres on March 9. The upcoming movie, which also has Nivin Pauly, Joju George, Poornima Indrajith and Darshana Rajendran, is a period film set in the early and mid 1900s and revolves around the chappa system prevalent at the Cochin port during the time.
Indrajith has also completed shooting for Anuradha Crime No. 59/2019 and the Tamil movie Mohandas; both films have him essaying the role of a police officer. The actor is also part of Kunjammini’s Hospital, which also has Nyla Usha in the lead.
Indrajith and Mohanlal are currently working together in Jeethu Joseph’s Ram, which will be released in two instalments. The movie, which also has Samyukhta, Adil Hussain and Trisha Krishnan as part of its cast, has a few more schedules in the UK and Israel pending.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj is set to work on his third directorial Empuraan, which is the second instalment of the Lucifer franchise, later this year. The film is set to go on floors in August and will be shot across six countries. It’s not yet announced if Indrajith will also reprise his role as Govardhan in the movie.
