After a fierce competition, the famous dance reality show ‘India’s Best Dancer 3’ witnessed its grand finale today. The top five finalists were Samarpan Lama, Anjali Mamgai, Shivanshu Soni, Vipul Kandpal, and Aniket Chauhan. And, after a tough dance battle that ensued to bag the much-coveted trophy and the title of ‘India’s Best Dancer’, it was the ‘Contemporary King’ Samarpan Lama who was crowned as the ultimate winner. Besides bagging the title of ‘India’s Best Dancer’, he also walked away with the prize money of Rs.15 lakhs.
Samarpan Lama: Making of a winner
Speaking of Samarpan Lama, he has always charmed his way to the hearts of the judges and the audiences right from his audition. Always loaded with a charming smile and equally charming dance moves, Samarpan Lama had confessed (in the audition round) that, even if he becomes the top 5 or 10 finalists, he would be happy. And the reason that he had a state won everyone’s hearts. For the unversed, Samarpan Lama, had said that the only reason that he wanted to be in the top slot was to become famous and also earn money by judging dance shows!
Samarpan Lama nicknamed by Sonali Bendre
While Sonali Bendre (who happens to be one of the show’s judges) had nicknamed him as ‘Cutie Minister’, the other judge Geeta Kapur had applied ‘kaala teeka’ on Samarpan’s feet in one of the episodes as a symbol of her respect towards his art. On the other hand, the third judge of the show, Terence Lewis, always used to refer to the Samarpan Lama as ‘King of Contemporary’. The icing on the cake for Samarpan Lama was in the form of the ace choreographer turned filmmaker Remo Dsouza gifted him a pair of shoes as a token of his respect towards him.
Samarpan Lama speaks about his grand win
Speaking about his grand win at the ‘India’s Best Dancer’, Samarpan Lama said that everything for him felt so surreal and that he always had watched reality shows and wished that he would be a part of one such show someday. He added that he never had even imagined winning his first dance reality show, which he termed as a ‘dream come true’ for him.
