Indian Idol 14 – Kumar Sanu sings Dekha Ek Khwab; Javed Akhtar corrects him leaving Shreya Ghoshal scared

The renowned singing reality show Indian Idol Season 14 is poised to feature screenwriter-lyricist Javed Akhtar as its esteemed special guest for the evening. Presently, the judging panel of this season comprises singers Kumar Sanu, Shreya Ghoshal, and music composer Vishal Dadlani. In a captivating new promo for Indian Idol 14, Javed Akhtar is seen urging Kumar Sanu and Shreya Ghoshal to render his debut song as a lyricist, "Dekha Ek Khwaab," from the iconic film "Silsila," starring Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, and Jaya Bachchan.

In the latest promotional video shared by Sony Entertainment Television, Javed Akhtar can be seen correcting the lyrics of the iconic song ‘Dekha Ek Khwab’ being sung on the show by Kumar Sanu.

Kumar Sanu started, “Dekha ek khwab to ye silsile hue. Door tak ‘nigaho’ mein hain gul khile hue...”

Javed Akhtar interrupts and said, “It is ‘nigah’, not ‘nigaho’...”

Shreya Ghoshal wondered who was speaking the truth. Later, she agreed with Javed Akhtar’s correction.

Hussain Kuwajerwala – the host of Indian Idol 14, smilingly acknowledged that the only person who can correct the panelists on the show – namely Vishal, Shreya, and Kumar, is Javed Akhtar.

Hussain said, “Ek baat main aapko batana chahunga. Main pehi baar judges ko bhi dara hua dekh raha hoon. (I wish to tell you one thing. For the first time in history, I am witnessing judges on the show being scared of your presence.)

Javed Akhtar cheerfully responded, saying, “Kya main sach main itna bhayanak lagta hoon? (Do I look like an evil?)”

Shreya Ghoshal smiled hearing this and added, “Aaj main on camera batana chahti hoon ki main kaafi baar lyrics ko upar neeche kar deti hoon. Sorry. (I wish to confess one fact on camera. Many times, I misspell the lyrics of songs. Sorry.)”

All the panelists – Kumar Sanu, Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani and Javed Akhtar, laughed off together.
