Indian 2, the highly anticipated Kamal Haasan starrer directed by Shankar finally hit the theatres today. The social thriller failed to impress the majority of the cine-goers and has been receiving mixed reviews. The film fanatics, who loved the 1996-released first installment Indian (available for streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium), are disappointed with the writing and making of the film. However, the makers did a major damage control at the end of Indian 2, by revealing the Indian 3 trailer. The netizens are showering love on the first glimpse of Indian 3, which is yet to be released online.
The Indian 3 trailer, which was released at the end of Indian 2, has received a thumbs-up from the netizens. The cine-goers, who are highly disappointed with the mediocre second installment in the much-loved franchise, had no hopes for the third part of the franchise, which is expected to hit the theatres in 2025. However, director Shankar, leading man Kamal Haasan, and the Indian 2 surprised the viewers by presenting the power-packed Indian 3 trailer. Now, it is also confirmed that Indian 2 was just a trailer for the third part.
“Indian3 trailer review - Fantastic cut trailer. This trailer will heal those audiences who went crazy after watching #Indian2. If you r going to watch indian 2 don't miss the post credit scene it will heal like medicine,” reads a fan’s post. “Happend to watch #Indian2 twice. The only postive was DOP and Indian 3 trailer, wrote a netizen. “Bad Poorly Written Sequal to Iconic Film. Kamal is Senapathy only in his name but way he talks and acts feels like totally different character. Rest of the cast doesn't help either. Even music feels subpar. Trailer for #Indian3 was only Saving Grace,” reads another post.
As per the recent updates, Indian 3, which stars Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles, is expected to hit the theatres by the first quarter of 2025. Some unconfirmed reports suggest that the makers, Lyca Productions are keen to release the highly anticipated film in January 2025, mostly as a Republic Day special release. However, an official announcement on the same will be made only after director Shankar and his team wrap up the pending post-production works.
