Indian 2, the highly anticipated second installment of Kamal Haasan and director Shankar’s popular franchise, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release. Ahead of the film’s release, the cast and crew members released the most-awaited Indian 2 songs at the grand audio launch event held in Chennai, today. Anirudh Ravichander, who replaced AR Rahman as the music director of Indian 2, composed six songs for the film. The netizens are now busy reacting to the soundtrack of Kamal Haasan and S Shankar’s film, on social media.
Indian 2 songs get mixed reactions from netizens
The Indian 2 soundtrack, which was released at the grand audio launch event in the presence of the cast crew members and special guests, has been receiving mixed reactions from the netizens. The majority of the Tamil cinema audiences, especially those who are familiar with the 1996-released first installment and its iconic music track composed by AR Rahman, are unhappy with some of the Anirudh Ravichander compositions from Part 2. While the Paara song and romantic number Neelorpam impressed the netizens, the rest of the songs failed to create an impact.
The cine-goers are also expressing disappointment over the makers’ decision to omit the original theme music from Indian 2. Even though Anirudh Ravichander is an accomplished musician, the netizens feel that his signature style is not going well with the theme and mood of Kamal Haasan’s popular movie franchise. Especially, the social media users are now busy trolling the fast number ‘Kadharalz’, for its bizarre lyrics. However, the loyal fans of the young music composer are highly impressed with the tunes and feel that it has added freshness to the franchise.
Indian 2 audio launch
The grand audio launch event of Indian 2 was attended by leading man Kamal Haasan, director Shankar, music composer Anirudh Ravichander, and other team members. Siddharth, who is playing a pivotal role in the film, gave the event a miss as he is currently enjoying a holiday with lady love Aditi Rao Hydari in Tuscany, Italy. Many popular celebrities of the Tamil film industry, including leading filmmakers Nelson Dilipkumar and Lokesh Kanagaraj graced the event, which was held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, in Chennai.

Where to watch Indian?
As reported earlier, Indian 2 is now gearing up to have a grand re-release in theatres, in 4K digital format. However, viewers can still watch Kamal Haasan and Shankar's iconic movies on OTT, on the famous platforms Aha Tamil, and OTTplay Premium. The movie is also available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar. The Telugu version, Bharatheeyudu is available for streaming on Jio Cinema.
